Saracens out of cup after Cardiff loss... |
|
In the end it was the opening twenty minutes of each half which cost the Men in Black dear with the Blues scoring four of their tries in that period but the visitors didn’t have it all their own way. The home side put together a sparking 20 minutes of play just before the break that saw them go into half time with a well deserved 22-15 lead. In fact the lead should have been greater had it not been for the visitors propensity to settle for three points rather than seven forcing fly half Glen Jackson to kick four successive penalties after Tomas de Vedia’s nineteenth minute try. Saracens promptly lost their lead in the second half after two quick Cardiff tries and in the end they were left too much to do in the closing stages despite Ben Johnston’s late try. |
