Saracens - Steve Diamond Stands Down

The Saracens Board of Directors have asked Steve Diamond to step down as
Director of Rugby with immediate effect.

Due to a difference of opinion with regards to the direction of the
team, coupled with recent results, Steve has now left the club.

Mike Ford and the existing coaching staff will continue in their current
roles with the full support of the board as the club begins the search
for a new Director of Rugby. While that search is ongoing, Eddie Jones will be joining the club late
next week on a part-time consultancy for the rest of the season prior to
taking over his role with Queensland Reds.

Saracens Chief Executive Mark Sinderberry said: "We'd like to thank
Steve for his efforts and taking the club forward during the last two
years, but based on recent results and a difference of opinion over the
future direction of the club, we have asked Steve to step down.

"The club will be looking for a new Director of Rugby with Mike Ford and
the existing coaching staff continuing in their roles. In the meantime,
Eddie Jones will be joining us on a consultancy basis. We have been
talking to Eddie for a number of weeks about him joining us for a short
period allowing us to utilise his knowledge."

Hopefully a positive step forward, which should see some more free
flowing rugby return to Vicarage Road!
