This years pre-season kicking competition is taking place on Saturday the 30th of July, 1.30 pm meet up and of course all are welcome to take part. (Its time to show those backs up yet again, forwards.)

This year there will be no drop goals, just kicking at the posts.

All names will go into a hat and will be drawn out in 2s to face each other, until we are down to a small group of finalists, who will then battle it out until we have our winner.

It was a cracking day last year and once again we will be trying to raise as much money as possible to buy new training equipment for our club.

Also our new social secretary Mr Hicks has some events planned for the evening…...he was last talking about a pool of vodka jelly and some sort of wrestling but that might all change by next Saturday.

I hope to see many of you there and I’ll see you Thursday for training.

So it’s that time of year again and the rest is nearly over. Pre-season training Starts Tuesday 5th of July and will of course run every Tuesday and Thursday after that.

It will be the same meet time of 7.15 to start at 7.30 sharp. This gives us around 8 weeks to burn off those beer bellys and prepare for the first trails games. With the 1st XV looking to better their league finish position from last season and the 2s having been promoted this pre-season is more important than ever if we are to progress and top last season’s achievements.

Another date for your diaries is this seasons annual players meeting which will be held at the club on Thursday 30th June, Starting at 7.30pm.
This will be your chance to hear my, Sedge’s, Martin’s and the coaches plans for the fourth coming season and your chance to have your say and input your ideas. We will also be discussing the new build, recruitment, membership and as always the clubs do’s and don’ts.

It is very important that we all make the effort to attend the players meeting so we all understand the direction our club is going to move in next season and for the future.

As always I expect to see everyone serious on playing in any team regularly this season on both of the above dates. If you can’t attend any of the above as always please let me or 2s captain Sedge know so we can plan sessions around your absence.

So it all starts again soon, I Can’t wait.

The 2010-2011 season Annual General Meeting of Watford Rugby Club will be held on Friday 13th May 2011 in the Club house, arrive 1900 for 1930 start.

2.  Apologies for Absence (submitted before the meeting to the Secretary).
3.  Annual reports of the WRFC Executive Committee and written reports as received from Officers for the Club. All current Exec members and Officers of the club are to send their written reports to Honorary Secretary by Wednesday 11th May 2011.

5.  Proposed Amendments to Club Rules and Constitution followed by vote to adopt.

Members are reminded that only the motions notified to the Secretary by the above date can be considered at the AGM. The AGM is the formal meeting of the Membership held to elect the Executive Committee and Officers of the Club, hear the reports of the current Officers and adopts the Accounts for the current season.

Postal vote forms will be issued with the AGM Agenda, which will contain all received nominations. Any postal votes must be received by the Secretary by no later than 19.15pm on the 12th May 2011. Postal votes may only be recorded by paid up, full members, Coaches and Life members that are unable to attend the meeting. All other membership types are non-voting.

The notice of the Annual General Meeting of Watford RFC was given by the Secretary on the 4th of April 2011

On the 9th of April the 1st team have their last league game, away to Thamesian’s. As they are over by Twickenham and there is no where to park we have organised a coach to take the players and supporters over there.

There is no 2nd team game that weekend and I would like you all to come along and try to make Thamesian’s ground feel like Watford home ground just for a day. A big supportive away crowd certainly lifts the lads on the pitch. Then we will head off to the nice pub around the corner which is Thamsians adoppted club house for a while and should be back in Watford around 7 ish.

The coach is on a first come first served basis and there will be a small fee per person.

The first will be against Northolt 2s at home on the 18th of September. The team will be made up of our novice players, vets and lads coming back from injury.

This season we have two fully committed and enthusiastic coaches on board to make us a success.
The new head coach and fitness coach have been putting in large amounts of work creating structured training seasons, fitness plans, game plans etc. To make us a force in both leagues.
At the players meeting we all agreed with the aims and targets set, we are only going to achieve those targets if we take full advantage of both these men. They are giving there time up for the love of the club and the wanting to see us a success.

The first training session is on the 22nd of June, that only gives us 10 weeks until the first league games.
Every training session is important.
Every training session is going to count.

As I have said before I have received many fantastic attitude’s and individual promises from you all.
Tuesday the 22nd is the time to start delivering on those promises.

The first and second teams are in restructured leagues with more games than ever to WIN this season .

I will see you ALL at training on the 22nd To start building Watford RFCs successful 2010/11 season.
