Sadly, Stuart Harrington, better known as Stoney, passed away suddenly recently.  Stoney played for us in the seventies and eighties and was well known by Den (who grew up with him) and Steve Kiely, Dave James, Mick Cook and many others. Most people will remember him as the 6’ 6” gamekeeper who always seemed to have a dead rabbit in his land rover! Stoney moved away to Northamptonshire to pursue his gamekeeping career and continued to play rugby there but still visited Watford RFC on occasion.  His funeral is on 5th July at 2.00 pm at the village church in Ecton, Northants.  Sincere condolences to his family.

@ Karen. Only just noticed this today. Would have attended the funeral if I had known.

Stoney was a legend - Does anyone else remember the time we hit a pigeon on the way to an away game and Stoney made us stop the car to pick it up and put it in his kit bag for his Sunday dinner. Also the singalongs to old macdonald with various meat products from Stoney bag - ducks, rabbits, etc. Also a great character to have on your team…
