the 2nd xv were away to Hemel in the merit cup. Hemel fielded a markedly different side from the previous outing where we put 40 odd points on them whilst we fielded what has to have been one of the youngest senior sides ever seen. As far as I’m aware there were only 2 players over 25 (Skinny and Gary Wilson, and I dont think either of them are 30 yet).
We conceded three soft tries very early on before a nasty looking injury to Bryn resulted in us having to move pitches whilst he was attended to (thankfully he is OK now). Watford then proceded to totally dominate proceedings, and but for some highly dubious refereeing decisions would surely have eventually gone on to win the game. Unfortunately, time wasnt on our side and we eventually lost 22-15. Really was a gutsy, committed display though and the young lads did themselves very proud.
