Morning all.

I hope your all nursing well deserved hang overs after Saturdays victory.

We put on two performances in the game this weekend. First half we were ruthless, hungry, clinical in attack and as a result we put on a fantastic performance and got the 4 trys needed for the bonus point. Second half I think it was fair to say we went through the motions. We gave away needless, careless penalties, took our foot off the gas big style, got sucked into their game for a period of time and allowed Northolt to get 8 points. We woke up towards the end of the game and finished the oppo off with 2 more trys.

Obviously the positives outweigh the negatives by a mile, but with tougher challenges ahead of us in the league and cup, we cannot afford another second half performance like yesterday. We need to be ruthless and push teams to the very end, regardless of how far ahead we are at half time. At the end of the season the points difference may decide were we finish in the league.

With that out of the way, very well done and great victory lads, Northolt were never really in the game even with us running at 50% in the second half.

I have to give a mention to a well-deserved man of the match, hooker Sanchez. He was solid in the scrum giving his opposite number major grief by winning much ball against the head. His work rate around the park was outstanding and his kicking was not bad either by getting 4 out of the 6 conversions. Very well played mate.

I also want to give mentions to centres Sailor and Coxy who both had solid games. The opposition did not have clue what to do with either of them. They were dangerous in attack, solid in defence and never got greedy with the ball, always off loading at the right times for the team. Very nice gents.

Also big thanks and well done to Richard and Marcus who made their 1st team debuts. I’m sure you will both be making regular 1st team apperances as the season goes on.

After this weekends results we have moved up a space to the top half of the table.

This Saturday we face Cuffley At home. They have not won a game this season, so will be eager to change that against us. I’m expecting a very hard physical battle as should you. So get to the gym this week and up your fitness levels, get to training Tuesday and Thursday so we can iron out the team issues. We were running at 70% of our ability this week, we will need to up our efforts if we are to be victorious when Cuffley come to our patch next week.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

From your “happy” club captain

Rick.

Final score was 38 - 8.

Trys came from Matin Lee, Mitch, Lenny O, Steve James And Ollie got 2.

Sanchez got 4 conversions.

There should be a match report up on the home page very soon.

George these decisions are not mine alone to make. If you can get ten people to post a message and agree that you should play wing I might consider it?

We will let the club deside!!!!!

Ill get this ball rolling with a vote for George on the wing!

By all accounts due to his unique style of play (wallowing) he spends most of his time on the wings anyways!

less of a goose step more of a Gooch wobble!

grin

I vote against George. Firstly, whenever possible we should aim to keep him away from the general public who come to watch our matches. The best way to do this is have him push against some equally horrific swamp creature in the scrum. ( No offence intended to our other props).

Secondly, anyone who watched us play Thamesians at home will know that the most threatening forward on the wing is yours truly. A mixture of pace and power unseen since a certain Mr Lomu was in his pomp.

Make it happen Ricky… Martin for wing!

i vote a pieface wing, that way the farmyard smell from his kit will be forced out to our loyal supporters, give them something worthwhile to complain about. PS well done for sat, a well deserved win, your all my heroes, big love.

In answer to Martins applications for Georges position, I have a lame donkey who looks like he can do the job!

Oh and George if there is an opening on the quiz team now, put my name down!

i will give my vote to George playing on the wing, only if Martin moves to scrum half and sedge moves to full back. Its all about the pace out wide lads!
