In what was a very scrappy game, with more scrums in one game than most of the season so far. The home team were trying to use their backs whilst the away team were trying to keep the ball tight and play through their forwards. The first score of the game came through Watford’s first visit into their oppositions half, and resulted in a try from scrum half for the day Peter Jenkins. The conversion was missed to make the score 5 – 0 to Watford. Almost immediately from the restart Quintin scored under the posts with the conversion making it 7 – 5 to the home team. Prop Gary Wilson was adjudged to have been held up in goal and the pressure from the resulting scrum led to Jenkins scoring his second of the game to make the score 19 -10. Quintin broke away late in the game to make the final score 24 – 10 to the home team, a result which could have so easily gone Watford’s way if they showed the correct attitude.
