Watford 2^nd XV completed the 10 match winning streak with an emphatic victory against local rivals South Oxhey.  This is also the 3^rd consecutive victory where the 2^nd XV have “nilled” their opposition.

Watford went away knowing that they were going to play a physical and lively game and were not disappointed.  From the kick off, Watford advanced deep into South Oxhey territory and were almost immediately rewarded when it looked like Tucker was about to break through.  However, he was high tackled, with the S.O player deciding that he wanted to take it further, requiring the referee to tell him to calm down.

The Watford pack were solid in their rucking and mauling, ensuring that the backs were fed regularly and to full effect.  This was seen through winger James Braun scoring 4 tries in only his third game back from injury.  The majority of these came from the fluid passing that is fast becoming a Watford trademark.

The second half was continuous with what was exhibited in the first, with S.O unfortunately going a man down due to ill discipline.  Watford did not slacken the pace and kept the throttle jammed down to ensure that the points kept on coming apace.  Watford however made hard work of what should have been a simple exercise of keeping the ball away from contact and utilising the overlap, instead deciding to play to South Oxhey’s strengths rather than their own.

Further scores from Lee, Godfrey, Tucker, Connolly and Mcgee secured what was on paper a comprehensive victory.  This puts them in pole position in the league with 4 games left to play to prove themselves champions.
