Watford Rugby Club

Watford Rugby Club was formed in 1973 following the demise of West Herts RFC and Sun Postal Rugby Club.  Our Club House and ground is at Knutsford Playing Fields, Radlett Road, Watford. The Club gained the Seal of Approval and Club Mark accreditations in 2007 and continue to hold these accreditations.  We are an extremely friendly club spending as much time, effort and money on socialising as we do on training and playing Rugby.  Our club has an extensive range of youth teams ranging from under 7s to under 17s and senior sides for those over 17.  We provide quality rugby coaching and playing opportunities for young and old rugby players alike in our area. This allows player to enjoy a safe, fun, learning and playing environment in order that they can develop their skills, keep fit and active and have fun.

LATEST MATCH REPORTS

Old Tottonians 1st XV 0 vs 3 Watford RF 1st XV

Man of the Match: Jacob Harris   |   Match Date: 24/01/2010   |   Article Date: 26/01/2010

Watford 1st XV notched up their first win of the season with a tense, hard fought victory over Old Tottonians. In a physical, low scoring match which saw 3 yellow cards the away side snatched victory with a last minute penalty from the boot of Man of the Match Jacob Harris.

Watford 2nd XV 43 Vs 8 Hemel Hempstead 4ths

Man of the Match: Jacob Harris   |   Match Date: 31/10/2009   |   Article Date: 03/11/2009

Watford 2nd XV looked to build on the previous weeks promising performance by putting on a good display against Hemel 4ths. Skipper Hicks selected a youthful side with a number of players under 21, a feature which has been characteristic of second team selection this season.

Watford 1st XV 17 vs 21 Pinner & Grammarians

Man of the Match: Martin Lee   |   Match Date: 24/10/2009   |   Article Date: 26/10/2009

Watford missed a golden opportunity to open their account for the season, slipping to a narrow defeat against Pinner & Grammarians. The home team can only blame themselves, having enjoyed huge swathes of territory and possession but once again failing to put points on the board when it mattered.

Watford 2nd XV 5 vs 3 Old Albanians 4th XV

Man of the Match: Gary Bridge   |   Match Date: 17/10/2009   |   Article Date: 18/10/2009

Watford 2nd XV took a youthful side away to Old Albanians searching for their first win of the season. With a number of players making their senior debut for the club, the game was always going to be difficult given the considerable experience bought to the pitch by the home side.

Watford RFC 5 - 21 Old Tottonians

Man of the Match: Danny Bartrum   |   Match Date: 26/09/2009   |   Article Date: 29/09/2009

Watford 1st XV suffered a second successive defeat in their first home league game of the season, loosing to Old Tottonians by 21 points to 5. Despite loosing a number of first team players to injury during the week, the home team produced a gutsy display and were unable to convert considerable second half pressure into points until late on.
