I bet they did better than the backs, nice one the pack. The oppos face must hav been a treat when the Mullins rocked up to take a pop at the posts.

I'm going for drop goal next time I have a run out. Grin

No Matt Mullins started off kicking, but soon handed over to Danny. Bridgey took kick offs and all penalties out of hand (great yardage NOT!!)

Mandy

Shame you don't know the rules of the Merit Table, get to know them know as you might need them next year.

Merit Tables are all about everyone getting a game and enjoying the afternoon, not about being hammered all over the place. That will drive players away from our game and everyone will then suffer in the end.

An extract from our rules is attached:-

6. Players

Only bona-fide playing members of participating clubs may play in competition matches and will be the players normally selected to represent that team

Teams may have up to three replacements, but are not obliged to have any. Where a team has less then 15 players, it is in the spirit of the competition for the opposition to assist in providing players so that the game can take place. This is especially necessary in Merit Table 3 and below.

On that day we were provided with some players by the opposition and the game went ahead.  The final score of 10 - 26 in Hertford favour was the score reported to the Merit table and that is the result and score that stood.

League points for the Merit Table games are:  5 for a win, 4 for a draw and 3 for a lose. If one team concedes the game and a game is not played the the team that did not concede get 5 points and a 25- 0 score line, the conceding team is the weakest link and gets nothing.

Has that put it straight.

As for the scorers in ha game I've not got a clue.

Dear clubman, i do believe that you may have mis read my last ditty. I am fully aware of how the merit table works, and again do not beleive i made any reference to it. I was merely talking about our own point scorers table, which unless i am greatly mistaken has no bearing what so ever on the merit table standings. Please fully understand what has been written before you try to get smart, it really does not suit you.  Angry

Mitch, i have seen you trying to kick before, and believe me there is no way on earth i will ever be letting you have the ball in any kind of position that you may even consider it.  Shocked Grin

I could find touch better most of you and happy to take a challange even take a bet on it?Huh
Come on this should be an easy win for you guys!!
Generally when I have to kick the ball in a game it because someone has messed up and I have about a second to get it away.
As far a goal kicking and drop goals, don't look that hard to me?

No mate I've seen too many kicks to touch. Wink
Think of a test of kicking and I'll take you on, distance or accuracy....

You must be thinking you have any easy one win here!! Grin

Cheers

I think there are a few people that would like to be included in ths competition (except me i am crap)...

I think you should do a mix of range and accuracy... Starting from the chip / grubber... Working up to the long touch clearances... I think starting on the 5m line, 15m in will be the best place to start from as you have plenty of targets to aim for, 22, 10, half, 10 etc

Please accept my most humble apology.

What are you bringing me into this for Huh Huh

I was only trying to get the scorers for the
CLUB
 website Angry Angry

But on a serious note CLUBMAN, what is the ruling on players in the first team (Herts Middlesex 3 North) league.   As I was at Saracens Ametures to day and one of the coaches told me that the WASPS boys turned up and started introducing their (5ish KIWI) players to the rest of the team?!?!?!!?  Is that not what they were busted down to our league for!?!??!

If I am wrong then apologies all round  Undecided Cry

HM3 N & S are both unregulated.

Players do not need to be registered with the RFU, but all other regulations regarding players and sides need to be observed.
