Well done to the 1st Team, let's hope the march up the league continue's.

The 2nd Team won 21-15 at home to Hemel 2/3's. (Hanging on a bit at the end - but a deserved victory.) Played my first game of the season on the wing and am stiff all over, I've seen props faster at chasing kicks than me!

Tries: Mark Bennett, Gary Wilson, Roger Rymill.
Conversions: Clarke (3)

Who knows I might treat you all to a match report.

Good set of results

Lets keep the 2nd team going.

Frankish get the report written and send to Observer.

Sad news Finchley 3rds have pulled out of the Merit Table.

He's not free he costs 1/2 mil but can turn out as a sub for the U16's if he is fit. He can also play backrow and 10 but not inside centre. Cheesy

Interesting result for Saracens!!  Basically boys this league is still wide open a run of wins takes us straight back into contention!!

From watching on the sidelines we had some good passages of play on Saturday but took a little time to adjust to Grammarians rolling maul tatics!  Get things moving a little more slick and I think things would have been different.

Thats the point though all these teams are more than beatable with everyone fit and on the ball!

The twos were looking good on Saturday too just needed a bit more cohesion and the result again would have been different . . matching them in all areas and some great defence.

Coxy

Sound observation.  We just needed to be a bit sharper. I think we missed John in the 2nd row and Leon in the back row.

The 2nds did well, a little training wouldn't go amiss, the Xfootballer looked fast. Who ever runs the 2nds needs to harness everyone's enthusiasm and they will start to win games.

You have to win and believe you can beat anybody. But you need to up for that fact otherwise you will be beaten like we were Saturday.
I heard from my contact at work Sarries had a number of players out on Saturday, but as coxy pointed out anyone can win it as Hendon drew with Habs......

Following on from our right honourable chairmans comments i thought i would just add my two pennies! It is all very well talking about how we can win and that this is a close league, but unless we pull our fingers out, all start training BOTH nights we are never going to make this happen. We were at the lowest level last season and will not get away this season turning up on match day thinking that it just going to happen. It is up to each individual to get focused during the week ready for the game, not turning up on a Saturday and thinking that is sufficient. It's good that we all seem to want the same thing for this season but we have no devine right for it to happen. We need to work harder than we did last year and make it happen for us.
