All valid points. Hadn't really thought about the geography of it all, was just thinking of the variation of leagues and the potential for change. On that I think that Option 3 would benefit smaller teams and limit distance travelled. But is there really gonna be that much travel and does it really affect the clubs finances?? (Not sure??)
Would they be up for other league ideas?? or is this the short list and no more?? I'm just thinking of the potential for teams to have a competitive season from start to finish and not just play a few games and have a few run away teams that ends the season for the rest. More promotion for more teams will give more edge to more fixtures and bring it down to the wire a bit more. And really give teams a season long focus.

One of the good things about the leauge we are in is not having to drive for 2 hours to get to a game and then drive two hours back so think geography is a key part..good point The Creed.

I don't think that they are up for any other options.
They have come up with 4 at their last meeting.
When the options form comes out we have to vote on those options. Lets just hope we get a change. I think that option 3 is now the best and should re-address the standards of rugby at the lower clubs.
I'll be honest, i don't know which is the best now. When do we have to give our views across maybe we could do a quick and i mean quick vote on thurs night to gauge the opinion of more of the players?

I don't see a reason why we can't have a quick vote on this at the end of the meeting. My only concern is if we do not have a good turn out are we prepared to let the outcome of the vote represent the club?
When the option forms come from the Herts RFU. All the club Exec have to sign the vote so that it shows that it is a club decision and not just an individual preference.
At the end of the day any feelings from the club membership and I would say the senior club members will be considrered as the vote must represented the clubs preferences.
However, when the club votes we have to put the options in a preferential order and explain why we have placed them in that order.
My personal feelings are that each league should have 10 teams in it, which I think opotiuons 1, 2 &3 give. Option 4 is status quo leaving HM3 split with 6-/7 teams in each league. I don't think Option 4 should be considered as it does not move Rugny forward.
OPtion 1 straight split 1,2,3,4 would leave the small clubs wallowing at the bottom and with no geographical split may rrsult in clubs not being able to travel the possible long distances required. Option 2 does have a Geo-split but at HM2 level, which on consideration maybe is not that effective for the smaller clubs at the lower level. Option 3 has the geo-split at the lower level and I think that this is were it should be as the option will give the small clubs in the lower levels more games against a variety of teams and will allow those clubs that want to progress the opportunity to.
I will if need be give a brief presentation on Thursday.
