Hi all, Karen Reilly here, I can confirm that the dinner and dance is to be held on 7th June at Watford Rugby Club.  The choice of venue is at the request of the committee.  We are having the marquee as used previously and it will be a formal dinner and dance. Tickets will be available from the two Sues, Yvonne James and me, when  available.  At the moment we are trying to negotiate the best possible price for the marquee and the caterers before the final ticket price is agreed - but currently it is £35 with a balance to be subsidised by the club in return for takings at the bar.  I wasnt able to go to the d & d at the club the year before last but I understand it was a great night and I think that is what is trying to be achieved again. Any feedback more than welcome?Huh

Love Karen xxx

Wow gents,
Lets not start pointing fingers at one another!!!!  We are a CLUB and we should pull together and get things done not bitch and snipe!!!!  If there's something that need to be done lets just get on with it lets take responsibility for our CLUB and make things work.  There have been issues in the near past that have caused the CLUB to faulter and other things in the past, but, we can't let things like that happen.  We need to pick up the slack as a CLUB.

Who is going to step up and take responsibility??
Show everyone with your actions not your words!!!
If there's something that you want / need doing ask the right people and get some support from those that can and push the CLUB forwards.

What do people want doing??
Who is going to act!!

Just a reply to Clubmans comments about senior players serving food and cleaning up on a Saturday. Shocked Shocked

Senior players do help out.

As you all know i have been broken and unable to play for quite a while now and since this is the case i help cook and dish up food on various Saturdays and also gave the kitchen a dam good clean 2 weeks ago which took me over 4 hours.

Now i did this just to help the club out and to keep it in a clean state. Now it doesn't take much to keep the club in running order as long as people are willing to put some time in now and again and muck in for the good of the club.

But this just proves that senior players do much in and help out.

Getting a bit silly boys!

The cards were made available at the beginning of the season. They were distributed to each section, mini's, midi's, seniors etc. If they have not been passed on then for that I WILL apologise.

I will furnish you with them on Saturday if you would still like one.

Everybodies comments have value and have a valid point, however they are generally disruptive and potentially cause for a major falling out.

WHY NOT TAKE OUT OUR ANGER AND FRUSTRATION ON THE TEAMS WE PLAY, NOT EACH OTHER.

We need to re focus and stop any inner bitching now. Rugby is the greatest sport to play when you're angry/frustrated/impotent, whatever your problem!

Let's start pulling together now, supporting each other and if someone makes a mistake or doesn't do something or misses something, let's get down the club, talk to them, pat them on the back while they buy you a beer.

I would request politely that this is the last comment to be added on the matter of missing cards, who does what etc.

Let's all start planning for the Dinner and Dance. You can start giving in the money now, excellent payment terms if you would like to discuss with me directly!

Gents, in essence what you are all saying is correct. There are lots of things that need doing at the club and unless people are willing to step up and help out then really negative comments can be kept to yourselves. I think everybody would agree that at present the club as a whole is in need of a bit of positivty and it is down to every single member to do their bit. Players needs to be committed and be as a team both on and off the pitch. Non playing members really need to get behind the club in anyway they possibly can. From a playing side lets enjoy the last 10 weeks or so of the season and then give the club the respect it deserves by having a cracking dinner and dance at the end of the season which is being organised by a willing group of ladies and is much appreciated.  Grin

BUT GETTING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION THAT JS ASKED SOME WEEKS AGO

KAREN HAS CONFIRMED THE DD DATE AS 7TH JUNE 3 MONTHS NOTICE I KNOW THAT WE WILL ALL HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT SHORTLY.

i shall not be commenting on this forum again. any greivances i have i will take up personally. i have not made any personal comments and do not expect my name to be on the top of a rant. when any comments i made where to find out what the hell is going on with my club with which i would love to be more involved with, but have too many commitments as many people know. I shall expect a personal apology.
