Hello Gents

long time, no see!  My "grand designs project is coming along slowly but surely, and still looking to make it back for pre season training, miss the old faces!  lets get the old spirit back again!  By all accounts Saturdays match was awesome, the old wats die hard attitude!

Inspiring songs

Lose Yourself- Eminem (skinny + handsome remember this?)

Any of the Rocky Soundtrack

Pretender- Foo Fighters

Anything off the black album-Metallica

and if you really wanna get worked up, download the speech by al pacino in Any given sunday (handsome and skinny opened my eyes to this) not technically music but that speech said by ol Al really works you up to wanna step oput on the field! I'll put it here but you really gotta listen to how its said!

Hope to see all the old mugs soon and hopefully some new ones!  Smiley

"I don't know what to say really. Three minutes till the biggest battle of our professional lives. It all comes down to today. Now either we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play, till we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the sh*t kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch at a time.

Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces, and I think... I mean I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I pi**ed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me, and lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.
You know when you get old in life, things get taken from you. That's part of life. But you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out life's this game of inches. And so is Rugby. Because in either game, life or Rugby, the margin for error is so small. I mean... one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow too fast, you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches, that's gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this - in any fight, its the guy whose willing to die who's gonna win that inch. And I know if I'm going to have any life anymore, it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch. Because that's what living is! The 6 inches in front of your face...

Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think you're gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it, you're gonna do the same for him.

That's a team, gentlemen. And either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die, as individuals. That's Rugby, guys. That's all it is. Now, what are you going to do?"

god bless the hallowed turf of WRFC  Cool

Jesus Sedgley.... At least when preseason starts you should be putting so much effort into  pushing your ample girth around that pitch that you won't be able to conjure up so much tosh in one sitting!!

Looking forward to havng you back mate!

Sedge - i remember it like it was yesterday, it brings tears to my eyes!  Not as many tears though as when we got lost on the way to Hendon and turned up just before half time!  Fond memories! Grin

And yes i know how easy it is to get to Hendon's ground, however it was our first visit and we didn't have directions! Grin

Your thinking about Northolt mate, not Hendon, where you went to opposite direction to the whole team (who arrived on time) and got there at half time! Not to also be confused with the time that you drove me and Bridgey around east London for two hours trying to get back from Hackney!

Actually Peter I am not, I am thinking about Hendon, Sedge and Skinny will be able to back me up, so there!

Northolt was a seperate incident where another member of the team who will remain nameless sent me in the wrong direction.  A really good one that!  And I only got there 15 minutes late, not at half time.  Incidentally when I arrived we were losing, and went on to win the game if i remember correctly! Grin

As for Hackney, I was merely the driver and unfortuantly my navigators left a lot to be desired!  Why we chose to go back through central London as opposed to the M25 is a mystery to me!

Either way this was all years ago and I haven't got lost once this season!

Just slightly detracting from the subject guys!

Perhaps if you had the inspirational music playing you would have concentrated more on when and where! Tongue

Sedge, strange man! For someone who is too busy to train or play, you have far too much time on your hands! Grin

John, I am sure it was your impact play that made the result good in the end, either that or having 15 players on a pitch.

Take care girls

Sorry, one point I missed.

The spirit, fight, determination and effort put in by those who turn up has been bloody excellent over the last few weeks.

Thank you to all of you and here's to a good season next year.

At work my free time is still there to check up on match reports, and get the news letter e-mailed to me! Its just outside a work me free time aint me own lol.  I still have alot of heart for what I still consider "my club"

I'm not questioning the spirit of all of you that turn up and play and train bloody hard I merely think that I used to bring a bit of the ol upbeat sedgley to the game (and some diabolical throwing) and I always used to put tons of motivational cr*p on ere.

Handsome-It was Hendon, an I wasnt reading the map mate, and I sure it wernt half time it was only bout 15 mins late and we were still getting changed running up to the pitch Grin

Trev-I have said from the start and dont really have to go into great detail on here but I have nbeen doing up my wreck of a house and its time and money consuming, I said I couldnt commit this season, which I really miss being down there, but im not making excuses. Smiley

glad the old faces are still down there!  Maybe Ill see y'all for pre-season
