For those that don't know:
RSS = Really Simply Syndication
With RSS, you use a piece of software called a reader (or aggregator). That software then polls the sites you subscribe to (a bit like an iPod's "podcast"), and then neatly highlights & displays all the new posts/articles from that site in your reader.
I use it for nearly all of my web browsing. It's a great way of subscribing to loads of websites, and having your reader notify you when new posts appear. Plus, it really speeds up how long it takes to sift through a sites' latest posts.
So, whoever our web-guru is: can you turn on RSS for the forum?
I'd be so grateful, I'd probably buy you a pint!!
tip: I use
Google Reader as my reader of choice, as it runs within a browser and doesn't need anything else installed. If you don't want a browser-based reader, and fancy something that you install, then I can recommend
RSS Bandit, despite the dodgy name!
And, if you need any help on the site, let me know. I work in IT, have experience in just about everything computer-related, and have been programming since I was 12 (i.e. a *long* time).
